How do I restore the default setting on my Sony VAIO PCG-K37 laptop IF I?
How do restore the default setting on my laptop if I did a really stupid thing. My Sony Vaio PCG-K37 laptop was showing the error NTLDR is missing. Since I had lost all the software to my sony laptop, I did a stupid thing and loaded a Reinstallation CD XP HOme Edition from my DELL desktop. Well the "bright" side is I no longer have that error. This is why im posting this, my laptop only turns on, shows the windows, and thats about it. I think the whole C drive got reformatted with the Dell software so the laptop doesnt no what to do with it. Is there anyway to undo this installation and get it back to the original factory setting. Please help. Any suggestion would be greatly appreciated.
You would be best off ordering a restore CD from Sony. It should have the operating system, all drivers, and all software that came loaded on the system originally. You will need to do the full restore, which should wipe away the OS you loaded on. You can get a restore CD from sony's website. The link is below:

Also, if you continue to have errors after you reinstall, it might be worth it at that time to get your computer looked at...in case there is a problem with the actual hard drive. Sometimes when a drive starts to fail you will get errors like this. It's more likely that this is just an OS error and restoring
